Five-run second not enough for Lightning
KENOSHA — Lake Country Lutheran’s baseball team scored five times in the top of the second inning, but Kenosha St. Joseph’s took over from there, pulling away for a 12-5 victory in nonconference action on Tuesday.
The Lancers scored four runs in each of the first two innings. LCL surged ahead 5-4 in the second, thanks in part to run-scoring singles by senior Grant Manthei and Isaiah Oksiuta.
Junior David Nehls also had an RBI for the Lightning, while Manthei took the loss on the mound.
